The idea extending a helping hand to cancer patients galvanized in to the formation of Jagannath Cancer aid Foundation on the auspicious day of Vijaya Dasami on 3rd October 1995. Since then we are on the road with a missionary zeal. OBJECTIVES While total Management of cancer and associated problems is the broad aim, the organization has focused on the following works. Accommodation. Guidance and assistance in hospital Awareness and Educational Camps, Blood donation Camps etc. THE ORGANIZATION Jaggannath cancer aid foundation is registered with Charity Commissioner Mumbai. It has exemption for Income Tax under Section 80(G) of Income Tax Act. A Managing committee looks after the running of the organizational activities. ACTIVITIES Jagannath Cancer Aid Foundation provides accommodation through two rented flats are furnished with two functional kitchen. We have accommodate more then 300 patients and provide more then 9100 guest days till date. Assistance & guidance in the hospital provided through our members and social workers. We also assist patients who stay outside. The facilities available through the organization is listed else where for ready reference. AWARENESS CAMP Jagannath Cancer Aid Foundation have organized a Cancer Education Camp in April 96 at Bombay Utual Samit at Kurla. BLOOD DONATION CAMP A blood donation camp was organized on 16.09.98 and approx. 100 bottles of was donated to Tata Memorial Center. FOND RAISING AND ANNUAL DAY PROGRAMS Jagannath Cancer Aid Foundation organized fonding programs for awareness and fond raising. (1) Annual day 97 was held at Haffkine Institute Hall on 12th Oct. 97 with a seminar addressed by doctors from Tata Memorial Hospital followed by the One Act Play "PATENT MEDICINE". (2) "PINACHIO SHOW" the famous puppet show was sponsored by us on 8th Nov. 97 in Birla Kreeda Kendra. (3) LITTLE WONDERS Show by Kalyanjee Bhai was staged on 24.04.98 in Birla Matrushree Sabhaghar. It was a grand success. (4) Annual day 98 was held Lowar Parel on the auspicious day of Dussara of the year. (5) Jagjit Singh night was organized at Rangh Bhawan on 9th jan. 99. FACILITIES WE OFFER... GUIDANCE AND CONSULTANCY: The Management and Social workers provide free assistance and in following areas: Prior appointment with the doctors in Tata memorial hospital. Assist in registration formalities. Assist investigation formalities. Help in getting beds, operation dates etc. Help in blood bank Liaison in hospital administration, Doctors and other social service organizations for availing various facilities provided by the hospital & other trusts. Assist in reimbursement formalities, railway concessions etc. ACCOMMODATIONS Accommodations for patients & attendants, in two shelter homes with twelve beds. Accommodation is free for patients, nominal charges to be paid for maintenance for attendant only. Maximum number of attendants can be two persons. Maximum number of days has to be thirty days. MESSING The foundation runs on contributory mess on a no profit no loss basis with breakfast, lunch and dinner. COMMUNICATION Telephone is provided at the shelter home for guest use.
